In addition to setting up our website, our custom Discord bot, The Traveler, is now complete and is tracking players’ progress in The Arena.
A couple of players have now reached Prelim II (more on the levels in a moment), and are ready to face more difficult opponents!
Thanks to DnDBeyond’s current sale, more options have been made available for character creation, as one of the DM’s is sharing their sourcebooks with players via DnDBeyond’s subscription system. All players have to do is open a character ticket and mention that they would like access to the resources, and they will receive a link to add one (1) character to one of The Arena’s Cohorts. Additional characters will need to use the player’s own resources or be set up via DiceCloud or GSheet.
Tiers
Players who take part in The Arena will level up by facing opponents and advancing through “tiers”. The tiers are as follows:
- Preliminary (Wood) I, II, and III
- Bronze I, II, and III
- Silver I, II, and III
- Gold I, II, and III
- Platinum I, II, and III
- Diamond I, II, and III
Each tier has a custom badge and Discord Rank that players will be awarded as they complete arena battles.
Players will face more difficult enemies with each tier completed, as well as other players who have advanced to the same rank (or possibly even multiple lower-ranked players). The arena maps will also grow more difficult, with traps, hazards, and environmental effects – as well as rules imposed by The Traveler!
